With over 14 years of nonprofit experience and more than 8 years of executive leadership experience, Erica Young established Purposed Consulting LLC to help mission-driven organizations transform vision into lasting impact. Having navigated some of the most difficult challenges in the nonprofit sector, she has built a career rooted in empathy, resilience, and purpose. An award-winning leader who has successfully guided diverse teams of professionals, Erica balances strategic excellence with humanity at the core.
Erica’s journey began with a deep-seated passion for creating impactful change, which has driven her to excel in securing and managing funds for diverse causes. In her role as a grant writer, she has crafted compelling proposals that have resulted in significant funding from a variety of sources, including private foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors.
As a leader, Erica brings a strong background in strategic planning, organizational development, policy and procedure design, and team leadership. Her leadership approach emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and accountability, supporting organizations as they scale operations, strengthen governance, and build sustainable systems that support long-term success.
Erica also facilitates workshops, delivers community presentations, and provides consulting services to organizations, small businesses, and public-sector partners. Her professional credentials include certification as a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt Professional and Six Sigma Champion, CPR Instructor certification, Intercultural Development Qualified Administrator designation, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from the IUPUI O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Erica holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Public Health from Indiana University School of Medicine.
